My Client, an established FMCG company based in Shepton Mallet is currently looking to recruit a QC technician / Lab Technician to work at their site. The hours will be Monday – Friday 6-2pm / 2-10pm /10 -6am.

 

 QC / Lab Technician Key Responsibilities Include:

    • •Take samples from the line for microbiological & analytical testing
    • •Analyse finished products to approved specifications and in accordance with the prescribed methods
    • •Make sure date coding & labelling is correct
    • •Monitor CCPs – rinser validation, crimp & screw cap checks & pasteuriser set up and monitoring using Redpost
    • •Carry out ATP monitoring as required, using Accupoint 2 system
    • •Work in a safe manner at all times following the Health and Safety guidelines
    • •Work in line with Work Instructions and prescribed methods at all times
    • •Ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of individual work area and ensure a standard of good housekeeping in the laboratory
    • •Make pasteuriser adjustments as required
    • •Communicate, as soon as practicable, any problems/issues found as a result of the analysis/checks carried out to the QC Team Leader, QA Manager or relevant operative
    • •Carry out laboratory work efficiently within the safety policies and quality procedures of the company
    • •Report results through laboratory records and the company’s computer system

 QC / Lab Technician Skills Required:

  • Proven problem solving skills, with the ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative;
  • Comprehensive data collation and report writing ability;
  • Demonstrable track record of delivering high quality work timeously, coupled with the ability to contribute to the generation of ideas for improvement;
  • Strong organisation skills with an ability to prioritise own workload effectively; and
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels.

 QC / Lab Technician Experience Required:

  • Recognised science qualification and with a minimum of 2 years’ Quality Assurance / QC experience within a food / drinks / pharmaceutical lab environment;
  • Excellent working knowledge of HACCP and Quality Systems combined with excellent IT skills;
  • IT literate with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.

The salary is:

80 hours per fortnight contract

5 shifts per week on a 3 shift roatation

Shift A – Monday to Friday – 6 am to 2 pm

Shift B – Monday to Friday 2 pm to 10 pm (£15 per shift premium)

Shift C – Sunday to Thursday 10 pm to 6 am (£22 per shift premium)

Hourly rate £8.84 to £10.53 depending on experience
