Operations Manager - Dorchester area

My Client, a successful and growing FMCG business is looking to recruit a 'hands on' Operations Manager to join the team.  Reporting into the Operations Director this role will oversee Production, Engineering and Technical. They are keen to employ a candidate who equally comfortable reporting into the Board and dealing with day to day factory operations
Overview of the Operations Manager role:
Management of the factory, to include production/ printing/packing, warehouse/distribution, technical/development, engineering/maintenance, Stock control and planning, with connected 'first response' administration and personnel responsibilities.
·To manage day to day factory operations to ensure all existing and new products are manufactured to the required quality, cost and delivered on time.
·To prepare annual factory operation cost budgets for agreement with the board, ensure budgets subsequently adhered to and highlight any unavoidable or planned variances.
·To oversee preparation of annual, weekly and daily production plans to make best use of available resources and satisfy customer requirements, identifying any capacity constraints and proposing solutions to these.
·To liaise with staff involved with and contribute as required to buying of all raw materials, packaging and utilities/services with a view to the company ensuring both continuity of supply and minimum stock holding.
·To provide effective leadership and motivation to all staff enabling maximum productivity and as appropriate, recommending desirable additional resources and/or training to improve effectiveness.
·To be responsible for the security of the Company's Dorchester site.
·To ensure that, at all times, the sites and products comply with all appropriate legislation, with particular emphasis on health and safety, food safety, ethical standards and requirements, packaging waste and labelling. Liaise with staff responsible for technical, regulatory and customer compliance and ensure compliance in areas of direct responsibility.
·To contribute to board consideration as required on areas of direct responsibility.
·To prepare and manage CAPEX budget for new production equipment and buildings/services.
·To present manufacturing facilities to existing and potential new customers in conjunction with other departments when required
This role is located close to Dorchester and is commutable from Wincanton, Dorchester, Yeovil, Weymouth, Bournemouth areas.
This role may suit a candidate that has previously worked as a Factory manager, Operations Director, GM, General Manager, Site Manager, Manufacturing manager, Operations Manager
